Interview with William Barkawi

Please introduce yourself and the startup ClearOps to our readers!
My name is William Barkawi, I am 23 years old and the managing director of ClearOps. With now more than 25 employees in Munich, Saint Petersburg, and San José, we are digitizing and automating the supply chains of machinery-manufacturing companies worldwide.

Why did you decide to start a company?
I think I was influenced early on by my parents, who dedicated their entire lives to building their own businesses. That led me to found my first startup at the age of 15. At that time, however, I lacked any knowledge about markets, commercialization, and organizational structures—not to mention finance and other areas. During my studies at the Technical University of Munich and a first job at an operations company in the telecommunications sector, I then dove deeply and definitively into entrepreneurship…
